Evgenii Shershnev leads regulatory intelligence at Kite, helping energy teams turn complex permitting and compliance requirements into clear action. He spent three years leading quality assurance in the civil nuclear sector, delivering data center, server, and sensor systems to IAEA and ISO standards. He later brought new construction technologies through UL and ICC-ES certification at Mighty Buildings.
John Backer is a Managing Partner at On Tap Consulting with more than 25 years of executive experience scaling operations-intensive businesses, including senior roles across the solar industry. As VP of Global Operations at Mainstream Energy, he led supply chain and operations for its residential, commercial, government, and wholesale solar businesses, a $225M organization. He later led operations at Skyline Solar, a venture-backed concentrated photovoltaic company.
Alexey Dubov is a serial entrepreneur backed by investors including Y Combinator and Khosla Ventures, and Managing Partner of BuildTech Ventures, where he invests across construction, real estate, and energy technology. As co-founder of Mighty Buildings, he brought new construction technologies to market and played a key role in developing regulatory standards with UL, ASTM, and ISO. He was also an early investor and advisor to HyPoint, a hydrogen fuel cell developer acquired by ZeroAvia.
Nathan Cryder is the founder of CommonWatts, helping energy developers and host communities find common ground through early, honest engagement. He previously led partnerships and public engagement at Aston Labs, siting power infrastructure for hyperscale AI data centers, and as COO of Edelen Renewables pioneered "coal-to-solar" projects in Appalachian energy communities, including a 200 MW project on an abandoned Kentucky coal mine.
Tom Egan is the founder and principal of Absecon Group, a public affairs firm specializing in paid media and license-to-operate campaigns for energy infrastructure. He has led community campaigns for utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage developers, including one of the nation’s largest renewable energy companies, on projects of up to two gigawatts. His work combines community surveys, stakeholder mapping, and grassroots advocacy to secure local approvals, including helping turn around a utility-scale solar project that was already on the path to cancellation.
Greg Young is the Co-Founder and CEO of Lancea, which builds ethical AI for complex strategic communications challenges, including simulating how contested projects and messaging may land before going public. He previously served as SVP of Commercial Strategy at narrative-intelligence platform Blackbird.AI and spent nearly eight years at Weber Shandwick, where he became EVP and Head of Integrated Media Strategy for North America. There, he led strategy and analytics for clients facing coordinated misinformation at national and local levels.
